The NETGEAR Digital Entertainer HD is a chameleon of sorts - if you didn't know, you can skin your EVA8000 to completely change the look and feel of its interface. Head on over to our "Skins" download section, where you'll find the newest user contributed skins from around the globe.
Once you find your favorite, follow the brief instructions below to get your new skin up and running on your Digital Entertainer HD!
Add a Skin to the EVA8000
- From the main menu go to: More > Supervisor functions > Advanced settings > Display and screensaver
- Navigate over to "Skin settings." The current skin setting is called "Reflections" and is stored on the EVA8000's flash. Select the"Save skin" button to export the skin to the Data save location folder (set in the Advanced setting > Media library management menu).
- Go to the machine/nas/usb share that you are using as your"Data Save Location." You should see a "skins" subfolder. Underneath that are subfolders for each skins defined. There should be one called "Reflections" that was created in step 2.
- All that you have to do is to uncompress the skin you want and put together in its own subfolder.
- From the main menu navigate to More > Supervisor functions > Advanced settings > Display and screensaver.
- Select the new skin from the drop down selection list and press the back button. The skin should then load. There is a slight bug where the new selection bar is not loaded until you restart the EVA8000.

Also note that some skins can cause some instability and some features will not work correctly. If you find that a feature doesn't work (like YouTube) or your EVA8000 becomes unstable, simply reload the default Reflections skin and restart your EVA8000 to get feature/stability back.
