Thanks to shows like "Tiki Bar TV" and "Cerealized!" I am not only hooked on web based sitcom-like shows, but I am convinced this is the start of the second "Golden Age of Television".

 Check your history books kids...or, maybe your history web pages would be more appropriate, but the types of shows being developed and distributed are reminiscent of the old TV shows that were popular from the 50's through the 60's.

 What the internet and e-commerce has done to level the business playing field it is now doing for video and music!  The web is allowing regular, everyday folks to write, direct, film and produce their own short films and sitcom shows and all without an agent, or a huge overstuffed budget, or a bunch of suits telling them what they can and can't do.

 Okay, so the audience isn't huge yet, but think back to television in the 60's and 70's (or read about it if you are too young to remember), but televisions were expensive pieces of furniture that didn't work very well and not everyone could afford one.  Well, by today's standard of living, a new computer with a year's worth of broadband internet access is cheaper than the average TV was back then.

 I guess the only difference is the gap in the knowledge required...it doesn't take much brain power to turn on the TV and tune in and drop out...maybe that's what Timothy Leary was talking about???

Anyway, overtime the entertainment industry will realize there is money to be made with web-based media and then they will dumb it down and make it cheaper...and after a while the content will start to suck as bad as TV does and we will be ready for the next advancement.

 Ooooooo....I hope it's 3-D virtual reality holographs!
