It was announced at CES 2008 that the HDXB111 Powerline HD Plus Ethernet Adapter won the prestigious Best of Innovations Award in the Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Awards program. The HDXB111 was selected as the top product in the home networking category based upon criteria that included outstanding engineering and design qualities, unique and novel features, user value, and contributions to consumers’ quality of life.

With this product, users can turn any electrical outlet into an HD-streaming Ethernet connection ideal for IPTV and video streaming applications.

Netgear is also planning to release the XAV101, the HomePlug standard-compatible version of the Powerline HD Plus.
