I have not yet made the leap to high-definition television.  Have you?  What are you using?  What service? What TV? What helped you make your decision?

I'm considering making the plunge.  Advise me!

I have tried 3 different HD TVs but I'm not sure I would be the best to recommend a kind.  My 38" tube was nice but way too bulky, my new plasma is nice but would seem to cost too much to hang it so its sitting on a table for now, which leads me to the Samsung DLP which has served me well for the past few years.  I don't see a downside to DLP if you're not looking specifically to mount a TV - great picture for great price.

I would pay special attention to the number and types of connections or inputs.  My DLP is an older model and lacks HDMI which seems to be the preferred HD connection for all the new fancy gadgets.

I know about a half-dozen other techhy people who went with similar Samsung DLPs and they are all as happy as me.

Hope that helps.

Got room for a projector and a screen?

July 3, 2007 1:25 PM

Before I moved I did install a projector and a drop-down screen. I loved the experience and thought I'd miss it after I moved, but I don't.  Doesn't make sense in the current place but I wouldn't rule it out in the future.

I'm surprised how little use these projector systems get when I ask other owners about theirs.
