it's kind of a pain to download them
i've done it in the past, but they just come down as FLV files with most tools
i'm not sure what to do with those afterwardsCategories: Movies Online Media
I went over to YouTube to download some stuff onto my PC, but apparently you can't do that anymore. How do I download them? I know there are some toold out there. Any recommendations?

Me either! The only tool I could find put them in FLV format, too, and nowhere on the site did it tell me where to get a viewer for the files. I had no idea how I was supposed to play them back or anything. Plus, if I wanted to put them up on, say my MySpace page, how the heck are people supposed to view them?

Why do you feel you need to download them? Aren't you *always on*? ![]()
Being digitally entertained...
embedding the videos is the recommended way to spread them - that should cover most use cases (including MySpace? not sure if YouTube is still blocked from there)

ROFL
You have a pretty good point there. But what if the planet experiences a catastrophic event, wiping out electronic communications, and I need to be entertained? I'm a Boy Scout; I must always be prepared!

Some of the things I do with the videos is download them, convert to AVI and then I can edit in Windows easily.
See what I mean by this commercial, that was entered in the win a free slingbox contest.
The first part is from youtube, the second from commercials available on the sling media site.
