Personally, I just haven't found anything to match Adobe Photoshop in endless quantity of options and ease of use. If anyone has another favorite, it would be great to hear about it and why you like it so much.

Photoshop is the one I use the most, although if it's just to do really mundane tasks sometimes like crop or resize, I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager.  Mostly because PS is such a resource hog and I always have eleventy-billion windows open.

I've been using Photoshop since version 5 - currently using CS2 and will be updating to CS3 later this year.  I mostly use it for editting my "serious" photos (not snapshots) because of it's outstanding tools that don't really exist anywhere else.

HOWEVER because of my general hatred for Adobe Bridge, I use a program called FastStone to organize and sort through my photos (trash vs. keepers).

It is freeware that was developed by a photographer and it had an OUTSTANDING feature set without being a resource hog.

It even allows you to view RAW files without having to convert them first - this is a HUGE time saver for me while sorting through a few hundred photos from a trip.

 Check it out: http://www.faststone.org/
