I haven't tried it (heck, I hadn't even thought about it), but I'll be interested in knowing what others' experiences are with RSS.

Categories: EVA 8000 Content Providers Installation and Setup Setting up EVA Online Media
I've had my EVA8000 for a few days now and have been running through the feature set. I've had success with Internet Radio, watching YouTube videos, and viewing/listening to my own content (photo, video, and music) via my network and through a USB connection.
Being a HUGE fan of TikibarTV, I watched a few episodes from my harddrive, but then decided to hook it up on my EVA via RSS feed. Using DEFW I was able to easily add it and several other RSS feed addresses (text, audio and video). My problem with video podcasts via iTunes is the download time, so EVA seems like a great opportunity.
Well, after adding a couple dozen feeds I was only able to get a few to actually load. The feeds were all visible, but only a few had the play button accessible to view or listen to the media content. I checked the feeds for info on the web, and they all seemed to be MP4 or MOV files which all loaded fine on my PC.
RSS feeds (especially for video podcasts) would seem to be the best way to view content on the EVA - no hassling with downloading the content to a PC or hard drive to watch it. Besides there are some REALLY funny shows out there in RSS feed land - like TikiBarTV and dotBoom.
Has anyone else had any luck with RSS feeds?

About 80% of the RSS feeds I added to my EVA don't work. The few that do work pretty well - still not thrilled about all the buffering for video feeds, but it's a new product...

Bummer. But yeah, it is new. I'm really glad you pointed this out, because it hadn't even occurred to me to use RSS with it.
BTW, the folks over at NETGEAR read this site, and they actually do listen to constructive comments like yours. Who knows? Maybe RSS handling will end up on the short-list for a software upgrade!

Hello
New to the community and just got my 8000 however do have a option for you on the RSS video feeds. I have been using Micro a free opensource product for windows that you can subscribe to feeds like Tiki Bar, Revision3 "Diggnation, Totally Rad Show" etc... The product will automatically download when new videos come out for the feed. Via the software you can tell it to auto-delete after a certain amount of days to help with drive space..
Then if you have your 8000 pointing to the folder the videos get downloaded to then you can watch them via your 8000. I have this up and running and its great! Diggnation just started publising the video cast in HD so now watching it from my familyroom in HD!!!!
