Well, I've been playing with my EVA8000 for about a week and it's just one of those gadgets that I really like and think is totally cool, but it's missing some major features - all of which have to do with CONTENT!!!
This box would be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better if I could browse through RSS feeds (text/audio/video podcasts) and dynamically build a library of content that could be organized by keyword or category.  Sort of a combination of iTunes Music Store and EVA interface.
Part of my problem with podcasts is that I don't like having to wait for the download in iTunes and I HATE watching streaming video (with all the pixels and hiccups).
I added about 30+ RSS feeds to EVA and only 4 actually worked.  About half couldn't access the video content (no play button) or it was an incompatible version of the MOV file type.  (I will post good RSS feeds to my blog when I create it...probably in August.)
To make the EVA an absolute homerun I would add an internal hard drive and some sort of browser/subscription service so I could select and organize my favorite RSS feeds and let my EVA box automatically download fresh content and updates while I'm not watching my programs.
This would also make watching my programs much more enjoyable (no buffering, pausing or skipping) and I wouldn't have to use my laptop to find my own content that I have to stream or download myself.
Again, I'm on my computer already...why not just watch the downloads as I receive them???  Heck - it would be kind of nice to PVR content to a USB drive.
It's kind of like I signed up for cable and now I have to find my own programming and hope it connects to my box...  I get that they are selling the box - not the service - which makes them the "anti-cable" company...but does Netgear really want to go that much against a long time standard???

I still like my EVA and I play on continuing to put it through it's paces, but I am hoping that like any new product they add some of the above features.  (Just think how bad iPods used to SUCK when they first came out...there's still hope for EVA!!!)
