Usually, I just select video file (OK button) to start it, and you can do the same to show one photo, but you can press PLAY button (on first photo in a folder) to start slide show (all photos in that folder).

Some of you've had your EVAs for a while now, and I know that most of you like tinkering around with menus, options, etc., in your quests to save yourselves time and hassle.

Agreed. And a great feature for pix. Be careful doing that with Video, though, because it will begin playing the first video in the folder with the intention of playing all of them. This is great for a folder of clips from your digital camcorder, for example, but not so great when wanting to play the 4th episode of The Office, instead of the entire 2nd season.
