I love it...  Does have some issues yes but from what I hear they are working on firmware updates...  I just really like having all my movies on my NAS and viewing them on my large HDTV in my living room.  Also being able to watch my fav RSS feeds like Diggnation, Totally Rad Show on the tele!

Being able to rip my DVD's right to my NAS with no conversion and the device plays them great!  I have tried others that you needed to rip to harddrive then convert to a specific format and that is just to much time!

10 minutes and my DVD is on my NAS and able to be watched from my living room!

Also I have had only good experience's with the wireless connection with HD content and standard content.  I know some say only hardwire but having it in my master bedroom via wireless has worked great and no issues...  Well once it stalled out and just did a reboot..

The possibility of physical and mental collapse is now very real, no sympathy for the devil, keep that in mind .... by the ticket take the ride.

What do you use to burn your DVD's, especially in 10 minutes?

I'm also interested in your take on library management, if you're willing. I linked to an already existing thread about it, but I'm very curious how you manage all your DVD's no your NAS. I have mostly downloaded content, but have strongly been considering beginning to burn DVD's as well. Of course, I see me running out of space far too quickly, but that's another problem.

Being digitally entertained...

Jeff,

I use DVD Shrink and my PC is built a little just cause I use it for gaming however with DVD Shrink its on average 10 - 15 minutes...  Now if I was going directly to my harddrives on that pc its even shorter..  As for the library management I just use the utility that came with the EVA8000 "Tag Tool" works just fine for me adds about another minute to tag the new added movie.  Also when I use DVDShrink i dont copy everything on the disk just the main movie only certian ones will I pull over the special features...

Also if I have removed something or should I say Democracy application removed a RSS video feed because its expired then I have to rebuild the search from the EVA8000.  Kinda sucks but can deal with it...

Hi! Can EVA8000 play .vob files, grabbed to HDD from DVD? Or I need to converse DVD to another format?  In specifications of EVA8000 .vob files not supported.

Serge,

Yes thats how all my movies are on my NAS.  .vobs

It works perfectly and then you dont have to worry about converting it to a specific format.  Just pull the vob off the dvd and your ready to run..

Thank you, it's very important information for me! And what about HD Video - what type of files can this this device read? And, please, one more question - what type of digital audio signal (DD, DTS, HD Audio) EVA8000 support?
