The netgear website does not provide any information on what PC TV tuner card can the EVA8000 software handle. Other PVR systems, like MythTV, SageTV, gbpvr, snapstream, they all have specific tv tuner cards requirements.

So, anyone know what are the compatible TV tuner card for eva8000?

Also, is the software custom build or skinned from another pvr system? Just curious.

Here's a good thread on the NETGEAR support forum that discusses the TV Tuners.

The GUI is customized for EVA8000 although there is a new skin that's available on the beta release now.

Here's a partial list:

  • Adaptec Dual TV Tuner PVR and FM Radio
  • ADS Tech InstantHDTV PCI
  • ATI HDTV Wonder
  • ATI TV Wonder Elite Remote Control Edition
  • ATI TV WOnder Pro
  • AVerMedia AVerTV PVR 150 Plus
  • Hauppauge! WinTV GO-Plus
  • Hauppauge! WinTV-PVR 150
  • Hauppauge! WinTV-PVR 250 MCE
  • Hauppauge! WinTV-PVR 350
  • Hauppauge! WinTV-PVR USB2
  • MSI ATI Theater 550Pro
  • NVidia DualTV MCE

I got these from here:

http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/n101710.asp

I have 2 supported cards and neither of them work at the moment. If you look in the Digital Entertainer for Windows (DEW) software, it lists all currently supported cards. I would post that list but if a card is installed the list is replaced with the configuration screen.

Hope that helps
