Hi, I'm considering buying an EVA8000 to watch MPEG2-1080i files recorded on my iMac using EyeTV. The data sheet emphasizes that it can can play HD WMV and MPEG4 content but doesn't say that it can't play others. Can it play MPEG2-1080i files? These are originally from OTA HDTV. Thanks.

I'm watching 720p TV files and they seem to play OK, you just want to make sure that you have a wired connection (or a fast Powerline connection).  The unit shouldn't have any problems playing the format MPEG-2 but it will be the bitrate and your network connection that might determine whether the playback is choppy or not.

I have not tried a MPEG2-1080i file yet. But will get one and do so. Let ya know. Smile

Thanks. Does the EVA8000 have a maximum bit rate or will I just be limited by my 100BT network connection?

Thanks - looking forward to it.
