Does anybody know when the Firmware is coming out in Europe?
Netgear has released a new firmware (ver 2.0.145) for the EVA8000. It adds many new features (new interface, skinning ability), support for new formats/codecs (mkv, ts and more). Here's a partial list of enhancements and fixes:
To update your EVA8000, use the "Update from Internet" function in the Supervisor menu. The NA (North American) version is definately on the server and the other regions should also be available.

I have a question can you send me the new software i am running on Ver. 1.2.20IS at the moment. I have see you have the nieuw UK software.

The North American version is out on the Updates Server for sure as I have updated to it. As far as the other regions, Netgear still has not posted it to the Update Server. I don't know what the hold up is or why support doesn't know about the new version other then they must not be communicating internally within the departments at NetGear. If you want to try the NA version until they release the other regions, you can go to here:

Download the North American version and flash your EVA to it, then use the "Update from Internet" function on the EVA to get the 2.0.150NA version from the Update Servers.
Edit: Just posted over at the NetGear support forums asking when the other regions will be posted. As soon as I get an answer I'll post back here.

What does IS stand for by the way???

IS is for these regions:
Italy, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Russia, Poland, Eastern Europe, Middle East, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan

The other versions should hopefully be done in a week or so. They are just finishing the text translations for the other languages and will post the as soon as they are finished.

Just an update to this thread, NetGear has release a newer version of the firmware (2.0.159) and is available now for all regions. There has also been another update to the DEW software. Both updates are available directly through the update function in the EVA8000's Supervisor menu and the DEW software's "Check for updates" shortcut in Start/All Programs/NETGEAR Digital Entertainer for Windows program group.

I just updated to the latest firmware (today 07/02/08, Version 2.0.159) and I can now no longer see or connect to my wireless router (BT Home Hub). I have tried to discover it, no luck, I have tried typing the SSID in, no luck. I can connect via a wire without issue.
The Home Hub is fine I can connect from lots of other wireless devices in the house, and I can see it is broadcasting.
Anyone had any similar experiences with the latest firmware?

I'm having some trouble finding any newer versions of the firmware than 1.2.20. The links posted here (http://kbserver.netgear.com/release_notes/d103153.asp ) and any other links seems to direct me to that version. Is this because this is the latest european version?
I feel quite ready to try anything at this moment. The version i'm running on now just isn't working.

Update it directly from the Internet right on the EVA8000 itself. It's under the "Supervisor" menu, "Updates" - Update from Internet.
