I wonder if the MDE is attempting to access your share as a particular user. I did some searching, and couldn't find anything on it. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Categories: EVA 8000 Setting up EVA Troubleshooting
Hi,
I've bought the EVA8000 without reading the small print. I assumed it would be compatible with W2K server. I am able to see the shared drives, however, the device is unable to scan the contents. I've set the sharing permissions for 'everyone' to allow full control, change, and read. Further, I've changed the security settings for everyone to include full control, modify, read & execute, list folder contents, read, write. Also, probably related, the device is unable to use a directory to write to.
Has anyone else figured out how to get this to work on Windows 2K server?
Neil.
P.S. I have been able to access media on a shared folder on my XP laptop

Hey, that put me in the right direction. I am now able to access the files, which is great! However, I am still having difficulty with finding a write location.
Neil.
Not following you. What do you mean by that?

Add the "Everyone" group to the share you want to give write access to and give that group Read/Write permissions. You may have to add it to the NTFS Security permissions as well as the share itself.
Hope that helps....
