I've tried to add a few of my favorite internet radio stations to the EVA and have been met with problems.  I bet I'm missing something!

In "Server Name" I've typed in the name of the station, i.e.: Nectarine Demoscene Radio

In "URL" I've entered the following:  http://www.scenemusic.eu:8002/live.mp3.m3u

For some reason, this fails to work.  Am I entering the incorrect data in the fields?  The user manual doesn't really specify how an example would look.  I've listened to this station a lot and I know it works, too.

Any suggestions?  Is the URL formatted incorrectly, maybe?

I tried it on my EVA last night and can not get it to stream either. You have the format correct and it does work through WMP11 so it should work on the EVA. I even tried the other options (.asx stream) from that site and none of them would work also.

Hmm... we'll have to keep our eyes on this one - thanks Pardizzone.  If there are any users out there who have gotten streams to work, let me know.  I'm sure one of us will get there soon!

This was a reply to a request on another forum for the EVA 8000:

"Well for example, go to WNYC.org and see "listen live" on the left. This has "MP3" and windows links. Right click on "mp3" and say "copy shortcut" or "copy link location" when you paste you get: http://www.wnyc.org/stream/fm.pls

Easiest way to get that on the EVA is to select "Remote Control Your Digital Entertainers" on the PC (when you run Digital Entertainer for Windows or double click on the tray icon.)

This will open a browser window. Click the "Music" icon, click "Internet Radio" click "add internet radio server". Fill in the "Name" box with "WNYC - New York Public Radio" and put "http://www.wnyc.org/stream/fm.pls" in the URL box and click "add station.

Voila. On the EVA when you go to internet radio you'll see "WNYC" in your list of favorites. Select it to play."

I tried it and it worked, I responded as such and wondered when the other playlist formats will be ready for the EVA 8000 and the answer was....(still waiting).

Ok, my EVA had a major burp last night and all my radio presets were wiped out. Since then, I tried to load from the browser as I have in the past and can't find where the add internet server funtion is. I have done it before but when I open the browser, press the internet radio tab there is no "add" function there just

Play something
Browse
Playlists
Internet radio

pressing the internet radio but gives me

Internet radio player

Title
Genre
Quality

that's all. Please advise as I miss all my stations..

I believe you need to enter one through the EVA's TV interface first for the option to show up in the web interface. Don't have mine hooked up at the moment so I can't check....

Ok, once again I have to bow down in thanks for your help. You make it so easy, but, where would we be if you weren't here. Thank you, all is well again, but now I'm also fighting the dreaded 20 seconds between songs when I play .mp3's. I must have had a power surge because before losing the stations, all was well. This is my replacement EVA 8000 and returned the other because it had the same long delay before playing the next song in a play random shuffle. This new EVA did not have this problem until the other night. Gone where my internet radio stations and, now :20 seconds between songs...

Any thoughts, thank you for you help as usual and especially over the Holiday...

First I would try using the "Reset to defaults" option under the Supervisor menu. This will make you have to set everything up again but may cure it. If it doesn't work, the next thing I would try is unplugging it, let it sit for 30 minutes and reflashing it immediately with whichever firmware you were running from a usb stick. The flash may have corrupted if you had a surge.

So tried both the "Reset to defaults" option and reflashing and still no luck with :20 second pauses between .mp3 song plays.

I even swapped out my NAS with an identical one just to make sure it wasn't NAS related and still :20 second pauses.

I've seen written a recovery tool that was mentioned in a previous post, am I at that stage?

This is the second EVA that has had this problem and getting a new unit every other month doesn't quite make sense.

If so, is there a step by step ( i wouldn't even know where to change the IP address for the computer etc)...

you might try entering only one stream type either mp3 or m3u depending on which one that station is streaming.

Thanks for your response, I only stream .mp3 files. No m3u involved....
