...however, I have a couple of questions.

1.  Has anybody noticed any sound/video quality issues not related to the compression of files?

2a.  Does the player support any upconversion of video content or does it just stream at the video's native resolution, i.e. typically 480p for DVD, 1080p for Bluray, etc... ?

2b.  If not, does anybody happen to know of typical upscaling/upconverintg/deinterlacing capabilities of HDTV's?

3.  Are there any noticeable issues with streaming HD content or music?

4.  Does anybody know of a particularly good NAS for use with the EVA?  Are there any particularly bad NAS when used with the EVA?

Your help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

1. I have had no issues per say with quality on either sound/video. If a file is encoded properly, it looks just as good as the original material.

2. Yes it upscales to whatever you have the EVA8000 set for (i.e. mine is set for 1080p, thats what I get no matter the material).

3. To stream HD content, it is suggested to use wired only as you will have issues trying to stream wirelessly although some people have gotten HD content to stream (it fails with high bitrate stuff).

4. I don't use a NAS so I can't say, I use an old pc with Windows Home Server loaded to store my content for streaming but most NASs should be ok.

"everything will be ok in the end. if it's not ok, it's not the end" - unknown
