Hei

I have a Cubestation NAS in my homenetwork. From my EVA8000 i have managed to ad the IP adress for the NAS, so that i can play movies from it. But the software on my PC, can not add the NAS. When i try to map up the NAS through the Netgear Configuration i just recieve a message that "the network driver is not shareble". Results in that i cant find my movies on my NAS and tap cover etc.

Can anyone help me with my problem?

After you add the NAS share to the EVA, you need to do a Full Scan for media files to get your media to show up on the EVA. You can not share a networked mapped drive on your pc....

it might be a stupid question, but were should i "add the NAS share to the EVA"? Trough the sw on my pc i have noe been abel to do so. directly from the EVA i have added the NAS so i can play files from it. The problem is tag'ing the files. that has to be don from the pc, and that vil not map up the NAS

You can not add it the way your trying to do it. The setup your running through is for when you are going to share files through uPNP to view Protected content (DRM). You want to add the share either through the EVA8000 directly (not in front of my EVA at the moment) under the "Add Network Share" menu which is somewhere under the Supervisor/Advanced menu. After you add the share you need to do a Full scan for media for the files to show up. You can also add it through the web interface by opening a web browser and putting the ip address of the unit in the address bar (http://ip_of_eva). This will open a web interface that you can use to control your EVA and add the share from there under one of the Supervisor menus.

You can use the Tag Tool included with the Netgear software to tag the files directly on the mapped drive on your pc (or use any other tagging software such as MonkeyMedia to tag the files). It is a seperate program and has nothing to do with the configuration utility. Just start the tag Tool and open the file you want to tag directly from your mapped drive.

I just tested it..... I started the Tag Tool, clicked on "File/Open" and opened a folder from my network share with my music and selected an mp3 file. It opened without any problems...... In the picture you show above, the top one shows the Tag Tool and it looks like you didn't have you drive mapped yet. The bottom part shows the Configuration Wizard and looks like you created a mapping (Z:) to you NAS. Just open the Z: drive in the Tag Tool.

The configuration tool has nothing to do with the Tag Tool. I don't know why it doesn't show up in the Tag Tool as it does on mine. Have you tried updating the software from the update shortcut in the Netgear Program group on your Start Menu?

Hi there, I am having the exact same problem trying to use the tag tool with a mapped network drive. Can you tell me how you got it working? Was it just a matter of updating the software?

Tahnks
