People hacking into others home network is not uncommon at all. I see the attempt on my network quite often.

Security issues with EVA8000-web interface:

1. The EVA8000 is not password protected and protocol is HTTP( clear text) and NOT HTTPS

2. All my share passwords are readable from the add-share netword drive pages

Any simple fix ?

Thanks

Can't comment on the HTTP vs HTTPS issue, but NG is aware of the issue with the passwords being visible and are working on moving the file with the passwords back into flash memory. If I hear anything else I will pass on the info....

Thanks, good to hear thats the password issue is being worked on.

How about securing the  EVA8000-web interface with a password ?
As of now its open and anybody  has access to the control to reboot, play any of your files, roll back to defaults.

Just an FYI.... The moderators (including myself) and administrators on this site are not affiliated and do not work for NetGear..... I'm just a EVA8000 owner like you, volunteering my time trying to help out people that have issues.

My apologies pardizzone, I did think this site was owned & operated by Netgear.

Thanks for your insights.
