Anyone try playing movies or tv shows directly through the EVA8000 USB port via a portable hard drive? I get a message stating that the ITUNES media is not a compatible format even though the file appears in the EVA8000 directory. Does one have to save the ITUNES media in some special way? This direct tie in with USB to the EVA8000 is more convenient in many cases than tieing up the network. Thanks for the advice.

If its protected media from iTunes, you need to stream it from the pc with iTunes installed and also have the Digital Entertainer for Windows installed on the same pc. You can not play from usb drives.

Hi. I've tried to play music and video from iTunes. For protected music, iTunes and DEW must be installed and running to make it works. EVA can't manage the DRM of protected video, so impossible to play protected videos. But the non protected music, video like podcasts can be played without iTunes and DEW so you can copy them to another drive and even a USB stick. EVA can play these non protected files by itself.
