I'm not exactly sure what your problem is with the unit, it could potentially be a memory issue, but I would think that a restart/power cycle like you have tried would solve that problem.

Do you know if the unit was overheating? pardizzone mentions heat-related issues in this troubleshooting article. Again, I'm not sure if that's your problem, but it's one other thing to consider. If anyone else has any input, I'd love to see this problem solved!

The flash may have corrupted which would cause that symptom. Depending on what firmware version you were running, you could use the recovery tool that is posted at the Netgear support forums in the EVA8000 Beta forum. You just need to be running the latest public release to use it.

To repair the unit, you will need to use the recovery tool if you don't get it replaced from PC World. Either way, once you have a working unit, do not apply the hotfix they are suggesting. Just make sure your running the latest public firmware and Digital Entertainer for Windows (DEW) software from the EVA Support page. I believe the fix is incorporated into the latest DEW.
