livecell said: I set up my EVA 8000 no problem first time around and it was running great for a while. Now it seems everytime I start up the eva it says that I have no files so have to re-scan everytime I want to watch something which is slow and irritating sa you can imagine. I assume it could be a few things: - I am connecting wirelessly, so if I switch my router off at night, would this affect it? - I also turn my laptop off which is the computer I am using with the EVA - Should I leave the EVA on all night? - Is it possible that my firewall is blocking the EVA from writing to it's library file? - Should I turn off auto scan every night at 1am as my laptop is usually off at this time For any suggestions!
>>I am connecting wirelessly, so if I switch my router off at night, would this affect it?
Yes as the EVA would not be able to complete a scan or write/load the library and would cause it to think there is no library.

Same as above....
>>Should I leave the EVA on all night?
Pressing the power button on the remote or unit front only shuts down the video. The unit is still running unless you power the unit off by switching the power off (Netgear warns against unplugging the unit repeatedly).
>>Is it possible that my firewall is blocking the EVA from writing to it's library file?
If you can complete a full scan when everything is powered up and connected then it will work fine if you leave everything on overnight. You could leave your router on and just put your laptop to sleep and allow the EVA to wake it up.
