Unfortunately the EVA8000 is now EOL (end of life) and doesn't have any support for Windows 7. If you go over to the Netgear.com forums and do a search you'll find a lot of threads on this, and some workarounds people have tried. In the end I don't think anyone every got a really usable workaround, so my best advice is to either get an external USB drive, or get a NAS box (like the ReadyNAS Duo for example) to put your media on.

Anyone out there,
Any solution to the EVA8000 and Windows 7. I purchased Windows 7 only to find my EVA8k failing on me...

Actually, it works OK with Win7 so long as you have your media shares elsewhere. The latest official DEW won't install under Win7, but there is a slightly later version (beta for 9150) that will and works fine with the 8000.
