About Me
first computer: Tandy TRS-80 (Model 1) circa 1977
(check one out - http://oldcomputers.net/trs80i.html)
first language learned: GW-BASIC (when I was around 7)
number of languages I have learned since: 8 (including many small application scriptin languages)
first time I was ever drunk: May 1990 (the weekend before I left for bootcamp)
favorite thing to do while coding: drink
My avatar is me as an M&M - my wife and I were bored and in our PJ's and goofing around on the web when we went looking for the new M&M commercials. Like I said, we were bored. Anyway we found the page where you can make yourself an M&M and it just went downhill from there.
My M&M name: Professor Greasemonkey el Fuego (Master of Alcohol)
hobbies: watching streaming video, listening to GOOD music (jazz being my favorite), drinking good booze (top shelf only please), photography, and playing on the web.
I support local art, music, film, and neighborhood shops. I am not a big fan of large corporations with their thinktanks and mission statements. The best thing they could do is "think smaller and inside the box". No offense to NetGear...they can't help it - they are in the Bay Area.
I am normally NOT an "early adopter", but the EVA caught my attention earlier this year and since I am big fan of web radio, I was sold. BTW ~ www.savenetradio.org
Finally I am a big-time believer in open-source software and working for free. I have a full-time grown-up type job, but I do side work for friends, family and acquaintences. I work for free and on trade as cash complicates things and I truly value a good night's sleep. (One boss is enough for this kid.)
