No sound on recorded .TS-files at EVA8000

Hi there! First, I'd like to say hello to the community - I'm german, living in Switzerland. My configuration: EVA8000 connected wired to router d-link DI-524 Qnap TS-109 II pro connected also wired to DI-524 DVB-Set-Top-Box with Linux (called dbox, similar to dreambox) also connected wired to DI-524 The DVB-Set-Top-Box uses NFS which is also supported by the Qnap TS-109. My problem: Recorded video will be scanned from EVA8000 well and showed up. Trying to play these .TS-files will only show video but no sound! I've recognized that streams with only mpg-audio are playing fine with audio also. Recorded video which contains also ac3 streams inside have this above mentioned bug (no sound). What can I do? Do I have to set special user rights to the folder where the recorded video is located? Sounds not very senseful, because mpeg audio videos plays and sounds well. If I run the video through an audio/video processing tool, called projectX (great for dvb-streams), and play afterwards then with EVA8000 sound is present! Does this mean my DVB-Set-Top-Box doesn't record the stream properly or more likely the tv station broadcast a non-conform dvb-stream? It's a really pitty - because video playback with the...

Running DEW Software As SERVICE On Windows Home Server

Hi people, After receiving an email from a user on another thread, and also mentioning this topic in these particular forums, I have now decided to start a thread on this. Those of you who are running the EVA8000 from a Windows Home Server may have come across the problem of having to log into the Server every time you need to run the DEW software. I have listed below, instructions (sort of) on how to install your DEW software as a Service, which runs automatically in the background on powering up your Home Server. Right, here we go. You will need the following two applications. Windows Server 2002 Resource Kit Tools - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en Any Service Installer - http://forum.wegotserved.co.uk/index...ads&showfile=7 as mentioned in previous link. YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER AND LOG-IN WITH `WE GOT SERVED` TO DOWNLOAD FILES , this takes only seconds. Its best if you copy both applications over to your Server first. I copied them to the Software shares Folder, then dragged them onto the Server desktop. Now, for this to work, simply install the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools. I logged onto my Windows Home Server using the Remote Desktop Connection, then installed it from...

EVA8000 Will Not Start Up!

Evening all, Right, I`ve been having some grief with a new problem on my EVA8000 for a couple of weeks. It is, basically, when I power it up, or start it up, it does not start start up. When I turn it on at the mains, it appears dead, with nothing on the screen. I know it is getting power and doing something because the connection light on my Network switch and Router lights up. The LED on the front of the EVA8000, does nothing. If I hold in and release the EVA8000 front button, it seems to reset the unit, as the Switch and Router light goes off, then comes on again, although there is no action from the EVA8000 itself. I have to power it down and up again a number of times, sometimes I can be doing this for 10-15 minutes, then it might decide to start up. I am presently trying out Firmware 2.1.81 Beta, as I was experiencing the same problem with Firmware 2.1.66 Public Release. I have also used the Recovery Tool after the unit bombed out after a Firmware upgrade. This is most annoying and as with the other crashes and hangs, I`m...

5.1 Audio

My EVA 8000 is connected with the reciever Harman/Kardon 245 through optical cable connection. The problem is, that the reciever doesn´t recognize the multichannel audio sound ( p.e. AC-3 ). I did some test : I played the movie from the hard disc on EVA, the movie offered 5.1 sound, but on the receiver was only stereo sound from EVA available. Then I burned the same movie on DVD and played on DVD player - 5.1 sound worked. It means the movie files content 5.1 sound, but eva cannot play it. Can anybody help me to force EVA play 5.1 sound ?, or eva don´t have this skill ? thx Pulkas

Annoying Inconsistent TAG TOOL Entries

Hi all, Right, I`ve seen to come across another annoying problem with NetGear`s dodgy software. The TAG TOOL. I have edited a number of AVI files which I ripped from DVD`s. I have installed the latest version of the DEW software, I think it`s the Beta version. Where does it state which version it is? NetGear needs to sort out their software NOW, it`s by no way, user friendly. Anyway, the problem I am having is this. When I tag a file, I use the `ALWAYS SAVE .TAG FILE` option to save a seperate file, so our XBOX 360 can still read the files. When I open the TAG TOOL and bring up the AVI files, or even the .TAG files, they are empty, blanked out, as if there is no information stored. This is annoying as there dosn`t seem any way to edit TAGs, without re-entering all of the information. And again, when the AVI or TAG file is opened in the TAG TOOL, they appear empty again. The odd one or two show some of the information, but not all. None appear to show the saved image. When I use `VIEW ARTWORK` listing option on the EV8000, the...
