Top 10 Tips for Using Napster With Your NETGEAR Digital Entertainer

<img align="right" hspace="10" src="http://www.mydigitalentertainer.com/imagelib/contentitem/10194/10194.jpg">As a NETGEAR Digital Entertainer owner, you&rsquo;re probably already well-versed in how to stream internet radio and digital media files directly to your high definition TV. But do you know where to go for unlimited content? How about going for a music original? Napster is back, and it&rsquo;s better than ever. Unfortunately, it's no longer free. Sorry, those days are a distant memory. But when you think about it, ten to fifteen dollars a month for unlimited music is almost free, and well worth the price of being legal. You won't have to worry about the legalities of peer-to-peer file sharing. In addition, downloads no longer come from anonymous computer users halfway around the world; your potential exposure to malicious computer programs is minimal. 1. Try It For Free While no longer free for downloading content, you should give Napster a trial run. Napster offers a free trial period for seven days, giving you a chance to see Napster in action and to discover how well it works with your NETGEAR Digital Entertainer. But, there's a slight catch. You'll need a credit card in order to begin the free trial. This is convenient if you like the service, because you...

Some examples would be if you needed to combine a series of television shows into a longer "movie" or perhaps string together a series of home movies into one larger file.</p>

Video formats and tagging

I have ripped some DVDs to HD, and they are stored as Audi_TS and Video_TS directories. I want to Tag these, and I'd also like to store them as just one file instead of multiple files in these 2 folders. I want to preserve the DVD structure/menus/subtitles, and the quality of the movies. I've tried converting to ISO, and the Tag tool doesn't default to this, you have to manually change it, so it finds these files, and it appears to work. But is there a better format that is more compatible with the Tag tool?

Can EVA8000 Play iTunes Movies/Programs?

Hi people, I understand iTunes needs to be installed on the PC/Server to allow the EVA8000 to play iTunes audio/music. I don`t have iTunes installed yet, but before I install it and waste my time, my question is this - If iTunes is installed, would the EVA8000 then also be able to play the iTunes/Quicktime Movies/Podcasts and TV Shows? Or would it only be able to play audio files? Thanks. Neil.

Bittorrent Questions

I recently bought a NAS DUO to supplement my EVA8000. I was never able to get the Bittorrent videos to work properly and I thought this might help. I still can't get the Bittorrent downloads to work. When they are downloaded to the DUO the EVA can &quot;see&quot; them as they show up during the scan. After the scan is complete however they do not show up on the list of videos that can be played. In a related issue I have not been able to determine when you would be able to &quot;liscence&quot; the video file. If you download a bittorrent file to the computer and watch it on the computer you will be prompted to liscence the video to watch on the computer. If you download the file to the DUO to stream to the EVA and watch on TV when will you be prompted to liscence the file? Anyone who has worked through these issues please help! (especially if you have the same setup)
