Hi, Does anybody out there know if you can connect a network drive (1TB) to the router, which my EVA700 see's to my PC through, in order for the EVA 700 to work directly from it so there is no need for my PC to be left on? Cheers Andy

No sound on recorded .TS-files at EVA8000

Hi there! First, I'd like to say hello to the community - I'm german, living in Switzerland. My configuration: EVA8000 connected wired to router d-link DI-524 Qnap TS-109 II pro connected also wired to DI-524 DVB-Set-Top-Box with Linux (called dbox, similar to dreambox) also connected wired to DI-524 The DVB-Set-Top-Box uses NFS which is also supported by the Qnap TS-109. My problem: Recorded video will be scanned from EVA8000 well and showed up. Trying to play these .TS-files will only show video but no sound! I've recognized that streams with only mpg-audio are playing fine with audio also. Recorded video which contains also ac3 streams inside have this above mentioned bug (no sound). What can I do? Do I have to set special user rights to the folder where the recorded video is located? Sounds not very senseful, because mpeg audio videos plays and sounds well. If I run the video through an audio/video processing tool, called projectX (great for dvb-streams), and play afterwards then with EVA8000 sound is present! Does this mean my DVB-Set-Top-Box doesn't record the stream properly or more likely the tv station broadcast a non-conform dvb-stream? It's a really pitty - because video playback with the...

Folder browsing

It's obvious I have a non-understanding of the basics here.... I have a heap of folders marked for sharing in the Digital Entertainer software. I also have a number of forders shared in winxp. I've done a full media scan from the EVA box. But when I try to browse folders, although I can see the top-level server, only 3 sub-folders are shown - SharedDocs ane 2 ithers. I guess I'll have to start from scratch. What's the best method for folder sharing - the Digital Ententainer software, or native windows folder sharing? And can these two clash if used simultaneously? rob

Hi All, I am having problems connecting to my network using a WIRED connection (WIRELESS works but connection isvery slow). No matter what settings I use it just won't work. I have tried using automatically configure an IP address and manually setting it but it still comes out with "unable to detect network". I have a Prolink Hurricane 9300G ADSL2+ Ethernet Modem Router and a Bufallo Linkstation Live. Everything is connected to the Modem Router. The only time my EVA worked was when I connected the Linkstation Live directly and configured it manually but this is not the ideal setup since I want everyone in my network to access the Linkstation. Please help I'm going nuts here! EVA8000 firmware 2.0.159 with Windows DEW 1.8.0022

EVA 8000 - wireless pc to router to eva issue!

Hi all I picked up an eva 8000 and spent a pretty frustrating night trying to complete the installation - if anyone can spot my blooper and set me straight I would be grateful! I have windows vista home premium, netgear router (not sure which - came free with my AOL subscription), and a wifi link to my pc. On the PC the link is shown as very good, the router says the wifi link is 'great'. Managed to install the entertainer at the tv end - sound & picture on the tv set and the 8000 has access to my wireless netgear router. I uploaded the latest firmware from the net via the router and can play 'clips' from the net - seems the EVA to router worked fairluy easily! At this point things went a bit astray - the eva prompted me to go to the pc and install the disk - this was done and the software loaded - I get as far as configure and the pc shows the eva alongside a checked box on the screen - I hit connect and it shows connecting for a while then states 'cannot connect'. I did try turning...

Having set-up the EVA I would like to use it's USB port to access the stored files on my Humax PVR. I have connected a PC to the Humax via USB before and can read the files. Now the PC has moved elsewhere in the house and has been replaced by the EVA in the living room. Windows Explorer and will not "see" the EVA as a drive or via "My Network Places". Does anyone know if it is possible to see the EVA USB port remotely? Any advice gratefully received. Logan

I have a linksys wireless-G and the EVA-8000 can see it but will not connect wirelessly to the router with WAP either enabled or disabled. Connecting via ethernet works fine. Are there port settings on the router that need to be configured to make it work?

I've been holding off on my purchase until a Wireless N device comes out. I am unable to run cables to my "movie room" and have just recently purchased a Wireless N router, which I'll need to stream HD content from my PC. When can we expect a product with Wireless "N"?

Wired vs. Wireless

Hi All, I have been trying to adjust where my wireless router is in my home and even though I get an "excellent" connection with wireless, I am unable to successfully play music and run a photo slideshow at the same time. However, when I'm wired, I have no problems. Any suggestions? I have thought about a NAS solution but I've also thought about attaching a hard drive via USB as well.
