My EVA700 works with Windows Media Player 11 for both the UPnP server and if you want to create playlists, so you don't really need the CD except for documentation.
For WMP11, you need to turn on the "Media Sharing" feature under libary and ALLOW the EVA700 to play the media in your library. You can also create playlists in WMP11 and have them seen by your EVA700.
You can also use other UPnP media servers like Twonkyvision or TVersity, but pretty much everyone has WMP11. The EVA8000 software won't work since it's not a UPnP server (EVA8000 uses std file sharing).
I have the EVA700 and have two small issues. I need another copy of the software I have. My CD is not working very well and I need to rebuild this PC. Where can I get another copy?
If I cannot get another, what other software can I use. Because once I blow away the drive(nothing to do with the EVA), I will not have any software to use to connect to the EVA.
Can I use the EVA8000 software? I have two machines and 3 year old who knows where the movies are!
Oh yeah, and how or where do I create playlists?
Please help
Steve
