Skins problem with FW 2.1.76

Hi guys

Since I flash with the latest FW 2.1.76 I can't use the custom skins anymore because of incompatibility with the RSS feeds. A partial solution is to copy the RSS files from the original skin (FlareHD) folder of this new FW into the folder of the custom skins. But for Redalert and FlareXS this cause the lost of small sized caracters.

I know it's a lot of work but it would be much appreciated if the authors of these two skins could fixe it.

Thanks

Is this a beta firmware, JeangB? I've been told that the skins will create problems with the beta firmware. I'm not sure if it's as easy as simply reworking the skins, but that's definitely a question for the creators of the skins.

For now, if you're using beta firmware, I think the recommendation is to stay with the default skin.

Does anyone out there know what needs to be done to get custom skins to become compatible with beta firmware?

Thanks for your feedback

Yes I'm using a Beta FW with RedAlert skin. Scholar Warrior gave me a way to make it works with the last FW. The menus are ok now but I loosed the small fonts of RedAlert.

The solution is to copy the .bmp files RSSAudio, RSSNews, RSSPhoto and RSSVideo from the regular skin like FlareHD to the RedAlert folder \FlareHD\menu icons\active\bmp\RSS...

I didn't try with other custom skins so I don't know if it's a global solution.

Oups ... I made a mistake

The solution came from mod348or and is exactly :

Try this workaround:

1. Flash 2.1.76 and configure the EVA8000 (don't change the default skin).
2. After configuration, go to More > Supervisor functions > Advanced settings > Display and screensaver.
3. Go to the Skin settings option (it should be set to FlareHD) and select Save skin. This saves the skin files into your data save location share.
4. Open the data save location share and look for the skins/FlareHD folder. From this folder, copy the following files into your custom skin folders (Make sure to make a back up of your custom skin files). The paths are relative to skins/FlareHD:

/info.xml
/menu icons/active/bmp/RSSAudio.bmp
/menu icons/active/bmp/RSSNews.bmp
/menu icons/active/bmp/RSSPhoto.bmp
/menu icons/active/bmp/RSSVideo.bmp

That should be it. Now try loading your custom skin.
