Here's what's going on with my EVA 8000 this week.

I still have :20 seconds or more delay between .mp3 songs when playing either songs from an album, or, forbid shuffling songs.

 Also, though gone since a complete reset was a play for about 3 mins then stop playing entirely whether it was on internet radio or .mp3. Speaking of Internet Radio it has more than once completely wiped out my radio list and it's associated .xml file. What else, or it does not give me accurate reads anymore from the "Test Network Connection" I have use two indentical NAS and each one reads 1 mbps it used to read as much as 34 mbps. Swapped NAS to make sure it wasn't the NAS and tested the LAN connection going in and it reads 100 mbps, so it's the EVA. 

I tried both the "Reset to defaults" option and reflashing and still no luck with :20 second pauses between .mp3 song plays.

 I even swapped out my NAS with an identical one just to make sure it wasn't NAS related and still :20 second pauses.

 I've seen written a recovery tool that was mentioned in a previous post, am I at that stage?

This is the second EVA that has had this problem and getting a new unit every other month doesn't quite make sense.

If so, is there a step by step ( i wouldn't even know where to change the IP address for the computer etc)...

The recovery tool is basically for units that won't boot anymore. I would try the following:

Remove any custom skins
Reset to defaults
Unplug power from unit for 30 minutes
Power up unit and immediately flash with 2.0.159xx from a freshly downloaded copy

Any resolution on this? Have you tried taking your network out of the picture by playing a series of mp3 files from a thumb drive?

sorry, out of town for a week, back next week and had not tried a thumb drive yet. also was going to try bypassing powerline network by plugging eva straight to the router...
