What format is best for Tagging?

I'm about to use the Tag tool for the first time, and read in the manual (someone has to read it!) that only 4 file formats are supported, WMV, AVI, FLAC, ID3. Which of these gives the best quality and preserves DVD menus. Are there any other formats that Tagging works with?

From an article on the site written by pardizzone, here's a list of the formats that the EVA8000 will support with the newest firmware update, along with the list of tagging formats, too:

Container Formats: AVI, DivX, Xvid WMV, MOV, M4V, VOB, MPG, MP1, MP2, MP4, ISO, IFO, MKV, TS, M2TS

Video CODECs: MP1/2/4, Xvid, VC-1/WMV-9, H.264, FLV, OpenDivX all to 1080p

Audio Formats: MP1/2/3, WMA, WMA-Pro, AAC, AC3, FLAC, AIFF, WAV, PCM, DTS passthrough

Photo Formats: JPG, BMP, TIFF, PNG

Tag Formats: ID3 v1, ID3 v2, WMA, WMV, AVI, DivX, Xvid, FLAC, EXIF, MOV, M4A, M4P, M4V

To answer your second question the ISO & IFO formats, and I believe the VOB as well, will preserve the menu structure.

In addition, here's an article on how to use the tag tool.

Hope this helps!

Many thanks for that. What's the main difference between the 3 formats that support DVD menus? I'm looking for a good quality one that will have the least compatibility problems.

I have not seen the ISO format working, so I can't say whether it works well or not.

I have seen the IFO type format work quite well, although this depends on your network speed and the size of the media.

Maybe some of the other community members out there have some more technical knowledge of the difference between the formats?
