I've updated my EVA8000, Installed/Ran the You Tube Hotfix...I've tried EVERYTHING I can think of and what I've read on these forums, but You Tube videos still won't play! When I click OK, it says it's buffering...and then it ends on the screen that says DONE. I've tried everything I can think of. What can it be? I have no problem viewing photos from Flicker. PLEASE HELP!
This is how this page will look when printed ( minus this friendly message of course! )

Discussion:
Have you tried updating the Digital Entertainer for Windows (DEW) software from the update link in the Netgear program group on the Start Menu?
I do not have an 'Update' link in the Netgear program group on the Start Menu. Now should I do now?
I had the same issue, It turns out my firewall was stopping the video from being received and played. Check you firewall log it should contain messages about access attempts either incoming or outgoing
DOR
Go to the support site and download the latest version of DEW that is posted and install it and then use the check for update link that it creates to make sure your at the latest version.

Also the Youtube fix was only for an older version of DEW.
I had updated the EVA8000's firmware, but did not realize there was new DEW software (Feb '08) available. I uninstalled the original software and then installed the new DEW software. NOW You Tube videos are playing fine. MANY THANKS for all of your help!
No problem.... glad you got it working.
My eva 8000 only worked once for You Tube and now still only shows that initial search result regardless of what's typed in. Windows firewall allows netgear, digital entertainer running in the background yet no joy. I followed the advice from Pardizzone to no avail I'm using a wireless connection from pc to router, wired to eva. I can't access radio either, tells me invalid xml file. Any help would be greatly appreciated, wits end here.
Kind regards folks.
Can you try to connect the pc to the router via a wire? This will rule out the wireless connection. And for the radio, did you enter any custom radio stations? If you did, you can try renaming or deleteing the netradiofavorites.xml in the inetradio directory.
I'll give it a go. I need some cabling anyway, got a hd lcd tv yesterday so can't wait to muck about with it. I'll keep posting mu results. Thanks.
Another thing to try is to rule out the firewall by disabling it and trying Youtube while it's disabled(you can reenable it after the test). If it plays then it's a firewall issue and can usually be solved by uninstalling then reinstalling DEW. If it still doesn't play, it could be your AV software blocking access (Norton, McAfee and others have their own firewall running).
